Your Opinion Matters

Human rights are deeply woven into our daily lives, yet it’s risky to take them for granted. Your Opinion Matters shows what can go wrong when human rights disappear.

Young people under 18 have rights. The government and parents must make sure they have essentials like education, a home, and protection from danger. And most importantly — their voices should be heard.

In this card set, participants are faced with situations where the absence of a human right leads to strange or even absurd consequences — from freedom of expression to the right to privacy or education.
These images and stories spark questions and open up dialogue about what happens when rights are not respected.

Use the cards to talk about your rights. Which rights do you think matter most? And how can we protect them together?
